LATEST EXCITING NEWS!! HOME #7 WILL SOON BE A REALITY! We currently own and operate six single-family homes located in Northern Virginia which allow 30 adult men and women with intellectual disabilities to live in safe, secure, caring, and well-managed home environments as members of a community. On 17 July, 2019, Fairfax County’s Department of Housing and Community Development released a request seeking proposals from non-profit entities to provide accommodations for intellectually disabled individuals. Marian Homes developed and submitted a business plan on September 26, 2019, which laid out our strategies to acquire, renovate, staff and operate a 5-bedroom, single family ranch-style home located at 9817 Limoges Drive in Fairfax, VA.
Of the total planned acquisition and renovation budget of $778,000.00, we proposed equity shares of $308,700.00 from Marian Homes and $470,000.00 from the County (equating to 39% and 61% of the contributions respectively). Our key partners are Chimes International, which will provide full-time residential case management support to our residents, and Hensel Phelps, which will serve as our renovation general contractor.
Fairfax County approved our business proposal on December 14, 2019!
Our project timeline is as follows:
Property settlement by 31 January 2020
Award of the renovation contract by 10 February 2020
Completion of the renovation efforts by 30 May 2020
Achieving staffing and full residency by 15 June 2020
An undertaking of this magnitude involves significant commitment of resources. If you would like to join us in our efforts to assist our friends and neighbors with intellectual disabilities, please clickHERE.
